Aktion Club
The Arc is the lead sponsor of Aktion Club, a community service organization for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Members of Aktion Club participate in a variety of educational, inspirational and entertaining programs that help them become more independent while learning important leadership skills.
Aktion Club Strives To:
- Develop initiative and leadership skills;
- Acknowledge an individual’s rights as a citizen and support them in achieving their life goals;
- Provide experience in living and working together, and
- Serve the community
Aktion Club is a sponsored program of Kiwanis International. In Moore County, Aktion Club is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of the Sandhills whose members offer volunteer and financial support. Aktion Club of Moore County meets monthly and membership is open to self-advocates with a desire to be more independent and productive in their community.
